Chemical stress is one we don’t think about much. It can destroy our bodies and tissues quickly or overtime. There are a couple things to keep in mind here when dealing with chemical stress. Proper water intake is VERY important in keeping our bodies properly balanced. If anything, this will be a daily reminder to drink more water! Chemical stress can affect the function of the body. Things like diet, smoking, excessive alcohol intake, unnecessary prescriptions, pollution, etc. can affect you (which you probably already know).
The point is, having the wrong chemical balance can cause so much devastation in the body, and most of the time you don’t know it until it’s too late. What is one of the first signs of a heart attack? Most likely, it’s a heart attack! You didn’t feel that plaque building up over time. The chemical stress builds up over time. So how can we change it? Well that is up to you and if you are willing to change your daily habits. This is the first of three blog posts dealing with some stress! There are three types of stress in life: Emotional, Chemical, and Physical.
Most of the population is a victim of stress. Everyone has troubles, day to day worries and concerns no matter what they do. Everyone has had one of those days when things just don’t go right, and it seems the stress will keep piling on. When dealing with stressful problems, I want you to follow the 80-10-10 principle. 80% of the time things you do will work out, 10% work out fair, and only 10% of the things will never, ever work out.So work, relationships, family/friends, no matter what, 80% of the time people will approve, 10% basically won’t care, and the other 10% will disapprove. Hopefully this will help reduce some stress if we realize this. Nobody is right all the time (except maybe the wife) and all we can do is take a deep breath and try our best.
We also place high value on negative experiences. We can have one hundred good things happen to us, but when one bad thing happens, that’s all we can think about. It’s easier to get fixated on these negative experiences, but we have to try not to. A positive mindset can help even on the most stressful of days. Don’t let the negative outweigh the good!

Failing is such a huge part of success. Anyone who is ever successful will tell you that failing is part of the process. This can be applied to my patients trying to achieve health and wellness for themselves. Never get discouraged when you are moving forward and get set back.
